Jason Hurlbut is a violin teacher and freelancer based in Chicago, Illinois. He began playing violin at the age of nine, and attended the Eastman School of Music and Depaul University, where he studied with esteemed pedagogues Renee Jolles and Janet Sung. He currently teaches private lessons and group classes for violinists of all ages with the Merit School of Music, People’s Music School and LYRIQ Music School. He performs regularly with local orchestras including the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Chicago Summer Opera, the Artemis Chamber Orchestra, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. As a teacher, Jason values positive feedback and believes that anyone can have a rewarding experience learning the violin.
