Allison Grischow is a musician, teaching artist, and actor with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Theater from Valparaiso University. She greatly enjoys performing and teaching students voice, clarinet, and piano. Allison is currently an assistant teaching artist with Emerald City Theater Company in Chicago, working with students from age 3 to 13 years old to gain confidence through music and theater. In Valparaiso, she assistant directed productions of three new devised musicals, aiding in composition and conducting. Additionally, she served as a student conductor to the Kantorei Choir. Some of her favorite performance experiences include singing Johann Sebastian Bach’s Mass in B Minor with the Valparaiso University Chorale, and performing an evening of combined monologues and musical theater selections as her capstone project. Allison also is a music improviser in the Chicago community, and loves bringing energy with her wherever she performs or teaches.
