Brooks Wallace is an avid musician currently residing in the Chicago area. At the age of 6, he started playing piano, eventually joining all choirs, bands, and community groups in his hometown of Macomb IL. After beginning French horn, Brooks quickly fell in love with the instrument and made it his primary focus. Through his undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University, he traveled to Salzburg, Austria to study conducting and music history. Brooks is currently pursuing a master’s degree at DePaul University, studying with Lyric Opera member Neil Kimel. He was recently accepted into the Monteux Festival as an instrumentalist, as well as the Chicago Summer Opera Festival. In his free time, Brooks enjoys going to Chicago Symphony concerts, swimming, and jazz bars.
