Pittsburgh native Kim Hasara embarked on her musical journey when she sang the Star Spangled Banner in her high school for their sporting events. She started taking private voice lessons at the age of 15 and participated in her school’s musical theater productions. Kim holds a Bachelor’s degree from Westminster College and Master’s degree from Duquesne University in Vocal Performance. Originally classically trained, Kim placed first in the National Association of Teachers of Singing for two consecutive years and was a semi-finalist for the national Classical Singer competition held in Los Angeles in 2010. She can be found in the Chicagoland area teaching studio voice/piano lessons, mentoring for the music program Guitars Over Guns, writing music, and performing live locally.
